This Alexa Skill (“Skill”) enables you to play music from your personal Jellyfin media server using Alexa-enabled devices. The Skill is developed and maintained by Emmanuel Reyes (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This notice explains how we handle your personal information and data when you enable, link, and use the Skill.

2. Information We Collect

When you use this Skill, we may access or process the following information:

Alexa voice commands — The voice requests you make to Alexa (e.g., “Alexa, ask My Music to play my favorites”).

OAuth account data — During account linking, we receive an access token that allows the Skill to communicate securely with your Jellyfin server. We never see or store your username or password.

Media metadata — Information about your music library such as titles, albums, artists, genres, and playback history, retrieved from your Jellyfin server.

Playback and technical logs — Session data such as playback state, request timestamps, and error logs, used only for troubleshooting and improving Skill performance.

We do not collect or store any unnecessary personal information.

3. How We Use Information

Your data is used solely to:

Authenticate and connect securely to your Jellyfin server via OAuth.

Search, queue, and stream your personal music through Alexa.

Maintain playback context and improve Skill responsiveness.

We do not use your information for analytics, advertising, or tracking purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Music files and metadata remain on your own Jellyfin server. We do not upload, copy, or store your media on external systems.

OAuth tokens are securely stored in accordance with Amazon and OAuth 2.0 standards and are used only for authorized API access.

Any transient data processed during playback is deleted automatically when the session ends.

We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to prevent unauthorized access or misuse.

5. Consent

By enabling and linking this Skill to your Jellyfin account, you consent to the processing of your information as described in this notice. If you do not consent, you may choose not to link your account or to disable the Skill at any time.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties. Data may only be shared:

With Amazon, as required for Alexa functionality.

With your own Jellyfin server, as part of Skill operation.

As required by law or to comply with legal obligations.

7. Your Choices

You can revoke Skill access or delete data at any time by:

Disabling the Skill in the Alexa app.

Unlinking your Jellyfin account in the Alexa settings.

Revoking OAuth access directly from your Jellyfin server.

8. Updates

We may update this Privacy Notice periodically to reflect improvements or policy changes. Continued use of the Skill after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
